Sonic X, was a Anime, originally created in 2003, ran from April 6th 2003, to March 28th 2004, with 52 episodes. Which in Japan is "series 1", "series 2" did not air/release in Japan until 2020, when they started airing reruns. The English dub, was produced by 4kids Entertainment, on Fox It ran from 2003-2009, but gained more popularity around 2012-2015 (which was the time I watched it for the first time.)
In the series, almost every single character is seen, even Team Chaotix, and Big The Cat make apperances! Who at the time werent nessicarly the most "popular" characters in the time period.
It all starts out due to Dr.Eggman stealing the 7th chaos emerald, Sonic, Amy, Knuckles, and Tails try to retrieve it, but due to its power, and Dr. Eggmans machine, it teleported everyone on Sonic's World, to Earth. Which is the way, our protaganist Sonic meets one of the other main characters. Chris Thorndyke, hes a 12 year old kid, who helps Sonic the second he can, in their first mission, of saving Cream and Cheese. Also in season one, Knuckles and Amy find Sonic, on their own, and Sonic and Knuckles join forces. One of the chaos emeralds is rumored to be found, but Sonic, Tails, and Danny (one of chris's human friends) but are lured the wrong way by Rouge The Bat. Knuckles calls a truce with eggman and tells chris to give up their chaos emeralds but.. Eggman betrays them! He keeps them all..
Sonic and Tails have two emeralds stolen, Knuckles and Sonic have visions of Tikal, where she explains the emeralds, Chaos creates a awful flood, but Sonic and Eggman are on the same side to deafeat Chaos, and Sonic collects all the emeralds, he turns into Super Sonic, and Chaos retreats, happy with Tikal and some chao! Sonic goes to jail, but Amy helps him escape, and a handful of creatures from sonics world crash onto earth, Vector, Espio, Charmy. Tails and the others finally return to theirn planet! But Chris turns off their transporter before Sonic cn go. But Sonic comes home and even Eggman is Happy!
An alien named Cosmo crashes her spaceship. Now Chris is 18 years old, but due to te timelapse of the two different worlds, hes 12. They find one of the chaos emeralds, Dark Oak(Lucas) has a new mission to end Sonic and his friends, eventually they have all the emeralds, but now Eggman and Sonic team up once again, against the Metarex, They square off with Dark Oak and the Metarex army,Sonic and Shadow go super. Tails and Cosmo set off a love trap by accident, making them devolop feelings, the final episode Cosmo relaizes her purpose, and Sonic and Shadow go super in the cannonn, killing Cosmo in the process, but as she says "shes always their, just look to the trees"
One of the main parts of this story, is Cosmo the Seedrian's progression, at first shes a annoying character, a Mary-Sue even, but we see in the 3rd season alone how helpful she is at the end, how her self sacrifice is the main reason the universe still exists, in the story, her sacrifice is so vital, how she did it all to save her friends, and everyone in the world, not everyone would do that, most would just say oh well, the world can die, but she showcases her selflessness. I also find it very interesting that she has to defeat her own father, I mean that would have a toll on most people, as well, thats not a easy thing to cope with.
I also really liked the "doomed romance" thing they made Earthia (Cosmos Mom) and Lucas/Dark Oak (Cosmos Dad) Have, I think it makes it more interesting how at the end Earthia says to him "we have a second chance" before they both disappear into light, I think its nice how even though he betrayed her in the past by killing everyone as Dark Oak, she still loves him deep down!.
A real world connection, that I can see in this series, would be the Eggman/Sonic/Shadow helping eachother, as them all helping eachother doenst make sense until something is compeltly wrong, like Chaos, Metarex, which I think relates to Wars? I think this because even countires that don't hve the greatest relationships still will partner, if there is great risk to both parties, which happens quite a bit during world wars, and civil wars.
The Setting was a bit all oer the place, But the main areas were Earth, Space, and Sonic's World
